Mantas jubilee is celebrated at family dinner


XCAMPBELL — Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mantas, 467 Sanderson Ave., were honored Aug. 18 as they observed their 50th wedding anniversary during a family dinner held at the Chop House in Howland.

Hosts for the celebration were the couple’s children and their spouses, Terrie and Mike Vodhanel of Canfield and Sam and Kim Mantas of Poland. Completing their family are two grandsons, Jason and Joshua Vodhanel.

The former Amy Mastorides and Mr. Mantas were united in marriage Aug. 18, 1957, at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell, where they are members.

Mr. Mantas, a boiler operator, worked for Van Huffel Tube, Thermal Steam and St. Joseph Hospital before retiring in 1997.

Mrs. Mantas was employed for 27 years with Youngstown Public Library System as a clerk at the Campbell and Brownlee Woods branches before retiring in 2002.

Mr. and Mrs. Mantas are members of PERS Mahoning Chapter 8 and the senior citizen groups at Archangel Michael and at St. John churches in Boardman.
