Conroys mark 50th anniversary at dinner, reception held in Hudson
XMIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS — Mr. and Mrs. Martin Conroy, 16121 Ramona Drive, were honored by family and friends during a dinner and reception that was held Aug. 18 at the American Legion Post in Hudson.
Invitations were issued by their children who were hosts for the event, Elaine Denega of Berea, Kathleen Wodarcyk of Columbus, Martin H. Conroy of Avon, JoAnne Bagarus of Hudson, Mary Ellen Ruch of Strongsville and Nancy Conroy of Middleburg Heights. The couple also have 14 grandchildren.
The former Joan Howard and Mr. Conroy were united in marriage June 1, 1957, at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown. They are members of St. Bartholomew Church.
Mrs. Conroy retired in 1995 from her position as clerk with American Greetings of Brooklyn. She is a member of Middleburg Heights Women’s Club.
Mr. Conroy, a U.S. Army Signal Corps veteran, retired in 1993 from NASA in Cleveland, where he was an electrical engineer. He is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mrs. Conroy’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herm Sostaric of Youngstown, were also honored at the event for their 50th anniversary.
