Man charged in two robberies at same bank
YOUNGSTOWN — The man accused of robbing a Campbell bank — twice — last week made his initial appearance in federal court this week.
Donald B. Bevly, 48, of Robinson Road, is charged with bank robbery in the Aug. 7 and Aug. 10 robberies of the National City Bank branch at 403 Tenney Ave.
Bevly admitted carrying out both robberies, according to an affidavit prepared by FBI agent Bonnie Hartmann. He was captured during his second robbery attempt by a plainclothes police officer working security at the bank.
An audit conducted at the bank indicated Bevly escaped with about $316, Hartmann said.
In his court appearance Tuesday, Bevly forfeited his right to a pretrial hearing. He is being detained pending his court date.
Three others are charged with complicity to robbery in the case.
