Despite a financial turnaround that has Trumbull Memorial Hospital making $10.6 million through June 30 and Northside Medical Center near the break-even point, the hospital system remains for sale. Here’s what some in the health system say about that:
“We’ve been in contact with not-for-profits (potential buyers) the names of which ... you would recognize.” Thomas Hollern, president of the Forum Health Board of Trustees.
“No matter who owns Forum Health (for-profit or not-for-profit), the organization has to meet the health-care needs of the community.” Dr. Keith Ghezzi, Forum Health president and chief executive officer.
“It is important for the public to understand that it is not Dr. Ghezzi or Wellspring Partners” who are making the decisions about what happens to Forum Health. “It is 18 people [the board of trustees] who are deeply committed to this community.” Diane Sauer, Forum trustee.
