Twelve area teams will be competing at the 2007 American Poolplayers Association National Team

Twelve area teams will be competing at the 2007 American Poolplayers Association National Team Championship in Las Vegas. The event will take place at the Riviera Hotel & Casino.

Eight teams will be going against 650 other competitors for the national title in the APA 8-Ball National Team Championship — Open Division; while the other four will be vying for first place against 250 teams in the APA 9-Ball National Team Championship.

The 9-Ball tournament will take place August 17-20 and will award a first place prize of $15,000. The 8-Ball championship will occur August 20-25 with a first place award of $25,000.

The tournament to determine which teams were sent to the championships was organized by APA division representatives Bernie and Nouhad Pavlock, owners of Avon Oaks Ballroom in Girard. They are also responsible for sending the teams to Las Vegas.
