Aug. 9

Theft: A front license plate was removed from a vehicle in the 300 block of Afton Avenue.

Theft: A Grover Drive man suffered a $2,500 loss after a golf bag and golf clubs were stolen from his home.

Theft: An Indianola Road woman reported the theft of her dog.

Possible theft: A Boardman-Canfield Road man told police his son’s U.S. citizenship card was lost or stolen.

Identity theft: A Youngstown man found out his personal information was used to open a credit card account and rack up $1,061 worth of charges from three Boardman businesses.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Vineland Place woman discovered vehicle damage while she was on Boardman-Canfield Road, and that a garage door opener and another device were stolen.

Arrest: Police, with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested a 27-year-old Cook Avenue man at his residence on felony charges of identity theft, misuse of a credit card and receiving stolen property. The suspect admitted going to a Southern Park Mall store with a credit card belonging to a deceased person and finding someone to buy merchandise from him, officers said.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 35, was apprehended in the 1300 block of Boardman-Poland Road and charged after a $60 security camera was stolen from Radio Shack, 7131 Tiffany Blvd.

Aug. 10

Criminal damaging: A Lemans Drive man found that someone used a key to scratch his car’s driver’s-side door, causing $300 of damage.

Theft: A woman discovered her wallet was missing from a counter at a business in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Criminal mischief: A woman in the 500 block of Boardman-Canfield Road found that an unknown substance was poured onto her car.

Theft: A Youngstown boy, 17, was charged after being accused of taking two packs of gum from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Burglary: Someone entered a residence in the 100 block of Indianola Road through an unlocked side window and removed copper piping.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An Island Drive woman said her 2007 Pontiac G-5 was used without permission.

Theft: Several packs of cough drops were taken from a BP gas station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Bad check: Someone passed a bad $10,187 check at First Place Bank, 724 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: Police arrested a 33-year-old Struthers woman on a theft charge after $486 of merchandise was stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A woman, 18, and a 24-year-old man, both of New Galilee, Pa., faced felony theft charges after being accused of stealing $942 worth of clothing from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A 17-year-old Youngstown boy faced two counts of theft and one of obstructing official business after 13 articles of clothing worth $416 were stolen from the J.C. Penney store and 12 clothing items were taken from Sears.

Thefts: A Campbell woman, 36, was charged with felony theft and a Campbell man, 20, faced a misdemeanor count. The woman was accused of taking $576 worth of clothing, the man with stealing a $65 pair of shoes, from the J.C Penney store.

Robbery: Officers arrested a 21-year-old Youngstown woman on a robbery charge after two security personnel at Wal-Mart told authorities she assaulted them as they tried to detain her after the theft of $68 worth of merchandise. Charged with complicity to theft were two 20-year-old Youngstown women.

Arrest: Youngstown police handed a 42-year-old Youngstown woman to Boardman authorities, who was wanted on charges of forgery and criminal simulation. In June, a worker with HLW Fast Track, 4900 Market St., reported receiving numerous counterfeit checks that were cashed from the company’s payroll account.

Aug. 11

Theft: A front license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 500 block of Squirrel Hill Drive.

Arrest: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 led to a 31-year-old North Lima man’s arrest. He was charged with failure to appear in court to face a count of receiving stolen property.

Assault: A Stadler Avenue man received a bruise on his upper arm and other minor injuries after he reported being assaulted near his home.

Theft: A Bristlewood Drive woman discovered $470 was removed from her wallet.

Criminal damaging: A woman called police after someone drove through a yard at her Washington Boulevard apartment complex.

Theft: A motorist failed to pay for $30 worth of gasoline before leaving a Shell True North station, 8600 Glenwood Ave.

Theft: A woman reported two children’s toys stolen from her residence in the 4400 block of Southern Boulevard. The loss came to $45.

Theft: A driver left a Get Go station, 6911 South Ave., without paying for $45 worth of gasoline.

Aug. 12

Burglary: Someone entered a garage in the 4000 block of Riverside Drive and stole three bicycles valued at a total of $650.

Theft: A Sugartree Drive man told police his truck had been entered. Stolen were a $120 mini TV, three pairs of sunglasses and a garage door opener.

Criminal damaging: A man in the 4000 block of Riverside Drive reported someone struck a light post, bending its frame.

Forgery: An Afton Avenue woman found out her name had been forged on a personal check that was stolen and cashed for $60.

Criminal damaging: At a home in the 6700 block of Glendale Avenue.

Theft: A camera, a radar detector, a Tennessee operator’s license and a credit card were stolen from a truck parked in the 8000 block of Salinas Trail.

Burglary: Someone broke into a home in the 100 block of Overhill Drive and took $1,000 worth of copper piping.
