HBA parade features YSU student design
This year’s showcase will feature six new custom-built homes.
CORTLAND — The 2007 Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Mahoning Valley’s Summer Parade of Homes will feature a home interior designed by Youngstown State University students interning for Nouveau Interiors, based in Howland.
The annual HBA Parade of Homes is Saturday through Aug. 26 at the Copperlake Development by Walnut Run Golf Course in Cortland.
“Having the young people from YSU involved with this project will give them real world experience that cannot be taught in the classroom. The immediate feedback from the consumers will tell them what the show favorite design is. They can take this into the real world with them upon graduation,” said John Gouvas of Nouveau Interiors.
HBA President and parade builder Bruce Lev of Titan Construction in Youngstown said that “partnering with YSU makes sense for the HBA. We want to expose young people to the building industry at an early age so they can get involved; whether it is purchasing a new home or being in the business.”
This year
This year’s parade offers custom-built homes in a picturesque golf course community. Land Development Co. of Mineral Ridge is the developer for this event.
The show will feature six new construction homes in the Mahoning Valley’s newest community development. The builders include Randall Caldwell Construction of Champion, PMD Builders of Warren, Land Development, Titan Construction, and Charles David Construction of Warren.
Sponsors for this year’s show are Cortland Banks, Title Company of Warren Agency and Cellular One. The show also features an extended menu of food items from a concessionaire, Lev said.
