School report cards are out
Three regional school districts advanced while six others slipped a notch in the ratings on the annual Ohio State Report Cards released today.
Boardman, Howland and Salem advanced, with Boardman and Howland achieving an academic “excellent” designation based on student achievement test scores and other factors.
Salem moved up from a “continuous improvement” to an “effective” designation.
Three schools rated excellent last year dropped to effective this year. They are Springfield, West Branch and Maplewood.
Struthers dropped one notch from effective to continuous improvement, Warren dropped from continuous improvement to academic watch and Wellsville dropped from effective to continuous improvement.
All other districts maintained their designations from last year.
Full district and building-by-building reports will appear in Wednesday’s Vindicator.
