New teachers will earn about $31,654 this school year; $32,604 next school year; and $33,582 for 2009-10.

The top of the pay scale, for those with master’s degrees and 27 years of experience, is $63,941 this year; $65,859 next year; and $67,835 in the final year of the contract.

The agreement calls for all teachers to pay 5 percent of their health insurance premium starting in the fall of 2008. The district pays about $770 per month for an employee on a family plan this year and that amount is expected to increase next year, putting an employee’s contribution at about $40 to $45 per month.
