Free program, lunch available for veterans

HOWLAND — Howland SCOPE Senior Center and Warren Junior Women’s League will host a luncheon and a program for veterans Aug. 30 at the center, 8273 High St.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and a program for veterans and surviving spouses will follow.

Information will be available on eligibility for receiving assistance with expenses such as assisted living, personal home care, prescription drugs, and skilled nursing.

The speaker will be Mike Psznick, service officer with Trumbull County Veteran’s Service Commission. Providing information on the Homestead Tax will be Bonnie Rich, SCOPE social worker, and Kelly Bianco from Orange Village will be on hand to laminate wallet size cards.

Those planning to attend are asked to call (330) 609-7806 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday by Aug. 27.
