Copper thieves active in Boardman


BOARDMAN — Two businesses and a landlord reported copper thefts in the township.

Employees at Magnetech Industrial Services, Bev Road, told police that someone cut a padlock on the fence to the business’s outside storage area and took two coils of copper valued at $4,000.

The theft occurred between Saturday and Sunday and was reported on Monday.

A representative of RLM Electric, Western Reserve Road, told police that 200 feet of copper wire was stolen between Friday and Monday from a job site on West Boulevard.

The wire had been run through the building’s hallways and to the main point in the lobby. It was coiled into several small bunches.

A Forest Hill Drive man reported copper pipe taken from the basement of one of his rental properties on Chester Drive.

The theft occurred some time between Aug. 9 and Monday.
