Schanz 50th is celebrated at several events

XAUSTINTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schanz of Austintown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a series of events.

The couple attended an anniversary Mass on June 10 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown and a family dinner at Nicollini’s on Aug. 3, and they were honored at a surprise party held Aug. 5 in Lyons Hall at St. Joseph Church, where they are members.

Hosts for the party were their son and his wife, Rick and Teresa Schanz of Youngstown, and their children, Courtney, Patrick and Sarah, and co-hosts were Maryann and Mike Nanosky.

The couple’s other son and his wife, Eddie and Colleen Schanz, live in Sacramento, Calif., with their children, Stephanie, Kristopher and Ross.

The former Joann (Lucille) Lucarell and Mr. Schanz were married on Aug. 3, 1957, at St. Edward Church.

Mr. Schanz worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. and is a driver for V&V Appliance Parts in Youngstown. He also works on the grounds at the church.

Mrs. Schanz is employed as a communicator with Infocision.
