Roth Brothers win 2; Tamburros split in NABF
YOUNGSTOWN — Adam Cox had two hits and scored twice Saturday as Roth Brothers defeated Pizza Oven in the NABF Major Division Regional tournament game at Pemberton Park.
Mike Sikorski’s three hits drove in two runs for Roth. John Mang was the winning pitcher, scattering six hits and striking out seven batters.
Friday, Roth Brothers defeated Barton Braves, 5-2, with John hay tossing a four-hitter and striking out nine to pick up the mound win.
Eric Jones led Roth’s offense with two RBIs while Greg Rohan and George Rohan each had two hits.
Tamburros split two games, blasting Taylorsville, 10-0, and losing to Pizza Oven, 2-1.
In Tamburros’ win, Jason Savage had three hits while Rob Tamburro, Ray Jaminet and John Krivonak had two each. Tamburro, Krivonak, Jaminet and R.J. Bowers each drove in two runs.
In the loss, Armani Johnson had two hits.
In other Saturday games, Go Baseball defeated Cleveland Black Wolves, 10-4; Winking Lizards defeated Barton Braves, 5-1; the North Canton Terriers edged the Mosquitoes, 2-1; North Canton Terriers slipped past Winking Lizards, 4-3; and Pittsburgh St. John’s defeated Steve Sports, 12-0.
