Family dinner party held Aug. 5 for Dimoff 60th wedding anniversary


XNEW MIDDLETOWN — Mr. and Mrs. John Dimoff of New Middletown were honored at a family dinner party held Aug. 5 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman in observance of their 60th wedding anniversary.

The former Betty Ross and Mr. Dimoff were married Aug. 2, 1947, at St. Bernadette Church in Masury.

Their family includes a daughter, Cheryl Harold of Massillon, a son and daughter-in-law, John James and Carole (Williams) Dimoff of New Middletown, and a grandson, Keith Savikas of Tallahassee, Fla.

Mr. Dimoff graduated from Campbell High School and served as a combat infantryman with the 79th infantry division during World War II in the Rhineland campaign in Central Europe. His occupational specialty was guard patrolman, and he received two bronze stars, a good conduct medal, a victory medal, a distinguished unit badge and an occupation medal. He is retired after being a truck driver for Loblaw’s Grocery Chain, Boardman Supply and Preston Freight, and is a member of the Teamster’s union.

Mrs. Dimoff graduated from Brookfield High School and worked at the Sharon Store.
