Family dinner held for Schulz 50th anniversary

XYOUNGSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. John G. Schulz, 160 S. Kimberly Ave., were honored by family members during a dinner party held in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 5 at The Gatsby in Austintown.

The former Eileen Crum and Mr. Schulz were married Aug. 4, 1957, in Austintown Community Church, where they are members.

The couple have a daughter, Sharon Schulz of Mansfield.

Mrs. Schulz retired in 1959 as manager of the installment loan department after 15 years of service with Niles Bank Co., and retired in 1999 after 22 years as a media center para-professional with the Austintown Board of Education.

Mr. Schulz served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater of Operations aboard the USS Euryale from 1942 to 1946. He retired in 1983 after 37 years as an electrician with area contractors as a member of IBEW Local 64.
