Donald R. Ford Sr., who retired from the 11th District Court of Appeals last February, holds two records among Trumbull County judges:
He is the longest-serving judge in county history, having been on the bench at various levels for nearly 36 years. That included service as Warren Municipal Court judge from 1972 through 1976, Trumbull County Common Pleas Court judge from 1976 through 1982, and 11th District Court of Appeals judge from 1982 through 2007. He worked in private practice from 1957 to 1972.
He is the only judge in Trumbull County history to have served at all four state court levels: municipal court, common pleas court, Ohio appeals court and Ohio Supreme court (visiting judge).
