Federal grand jury indicts Warren man
CLEVELAND – A man who cooperated with federal authorities to convict Warren lawyer Maridee Costanzo of scheming to killed her husband has been indicted by a federal grand jury on a firearms charge. Also, the government is seeking to revoke the probation of William D. Cindea, 57, of Warren, who is on eight years’ probation for a previous gun charge.
In August 2005, Costanzo was sentenced to eight years in prison for trying to have her estranged husband, Warren attorney Roger Bauer, killed.
Cindea and Costanzo were picked up by Howland police with two handguns in a car. Cindea is prohibited from having a firearm because of a 1993 felony drug conviction in Lawrence County, Pa. The arrest led to Cindea cooperating with the FBI and telling them that Costanzo had hired him to have her estranged husband killed.
On July 11, Warren police arrested Cindea on East Market Street. He reportedly had a handgun with a laser sight in the console of his van. Mathews B. Kall, an assistant U.S. attorney, is asking the court to revoke probation granted Cindea in 2005 because he was picked up by Warren police with a gun.
