Teen denies guilt in school fire

YOUNGSTOWN — The 17-year-old girl accused of starting a fire at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center entered pleas of denial on Wednesday in juvenile court to misdemeanor charges of criminal damaging and obstructing official business. Pamela Schindler of Salem is accused of using a lighter to ignite a bucket of solvent on May 4 at the Palmyra Road school. The fire caused $4.5 million in damage.
