Aug. 1
Criminal damaging: A Garver Drive woman reported a soda can was tossed, causing $50 in damage to her aluminum siding.
Theft: An 11-year-old Youngstown boy was charged with theft after $94 worth of clothing and a $50 pair of jeans shorts were stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft by deception: A worker for Checks Into Cash, 272 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered after cashing a $4,960 check that it was fraudulent and likely part of a scam.
Theft: Police arrested a woman, 20, and a man, 31, both of Youngstown, on charges of theft and complicity to theft, respectively, after $66.70 worth of children’s clothing was taken from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. The woman also was charged with drug abuse after officers say they found a bag of suspected marijuana.
Domestic violence: A 24-year-old Boardman man faced a felony domestic-violence count after he was accused of punching a female family member on the right side of her face, causing an injury under her right eye.
Assault: A Woodlawn Avenue woman had slight swelling after being assaulted at her residence.

Criminal damaging: An employee with TGI Fridays, 7165 Tiffany Blvd., found a dent and scratch on her car's front hood.
Drugs: A traffic stop on Market Street led to a 31-year-old Youngstown man's being cited on a charge of possession of marijuana. He had a small bag of the suspected drug in his pocket, police said.
Arrest: A 24-year-old Hastings, Pa., man was taken into custody at the Red Roof Inn, 1051 Tiffany Blvd., after an employee at a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant told police he saw the man damaging a vehicle. The suspect was charged with disorderly conduct.
Robbery: A South Hill, Va., woman told officers someone grabbed her purse as she left a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.
Theft: A Sylvia Lane man accused a neighbor of using his trash services without paying for them.
Criminal damaging: The passenger-side doors as well as front and rear quarter panels of a Boardman man’s vehicle sustained damage when he was in the 60 block of Mayflower Drive.
Theft: A man reported his son’s $140 skateboard stolen in the 20 block of Sciota Avenue.
Theft: A Canfield company employee reported the theft of a $300 weed trimmer near Market Street and McClurg Road.
Criminal damaging: An Indian Creek Drive man discovered someone sprayed acid on his $1,400 air-conditioning unit and drilled a hole through its piping.
Misuse of a credit card: A Meadowbrook Avenue woman found out someone bought $271.73 worth of merchandise using her credit/debit card number.
Vandalism: Someone shot three light pole bulbs and globe lights at Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.

Assault: A Brookwood Road woman had several marks on her right forearm and swelling to her left eye after being assaulted at her apartment.
Stolen property: A Struthers man, 23, surrendered to police on a warrant charging him with receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card. A credit card taken from a Youngstown woman was recovered during a traffic stop on Forest Park Drive, police said.
Assault: A Youngstown man reported being struck in the face at the Southern Park Mall's food court.
Theft: Someone removed a $308 fold-up tent assembly from Agnew Farm Equipment, 7700 Market St.
Theft: Police arrested a 41-year-old Youngstown man on a theft charge after $292.70 worth of groceries was stolen from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Drug paraphernalia: A Boardman man, 31, was picked up at his home on a warrant from Struthers charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Domestic violence: Austintown police arrested a Boardman man, 40, who was charged with the crime. Earlier, a Tippecanoe Road woman alleged her husband threatened to kill and dismember her.
Drugs: A Youngstown man, 58, was taken into custody near Sunset Drive after being pulled over. He faced a felony charge of possession of heroin.
Theft: A 16-year-old Youngstown boy was charged after an $18 pair of earrings was stolen from Macy's in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Two bags of chicken were stolen from Rulli Bros., 5780 South Ave.
Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was missing from Plaza Donuts, 712 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Vehicle theft: A Basil Avenue man reported his 1993 Chevy Astro van stolen.
Breaking and entering/auto theft: An Overhill Road man discovered his garage had been entered before someone took his 2002 Dodge Stratus.
Theft: A Fort Myers, Fla., man reported his Florida driver's license, eight credit cards and $350 stolen while he was in the 1300 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft/criminal damaging: An employee with Linens N Things, 385 Boardman-Canfield Road, noticed her car's dashboard had been damaged by someone who stole her in-dash compact-disc player, 200 CDs and several other items.
Breaking and entering/truck theft: Someone broke into Fithian-Wilbert Burial Vault Co., 6234 Market St., and a 2003 Ford F-250 truck was stolen.
Assault: A worker for Sports World Corp., 8249 South Ave., suffered swelling and redness to his head after being assaulted.
Domestic violence: A Canterbury Lane woman, 35, was arrested at her residence on a felony charge of the crime after someone reported a girl was assaulted by her mother.
Attempted assault: A Poland man told police that another driver intentionally used his car to strike the accuser's vehicle during an argument between the motorists in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard.

Drugs: A New Middletown man, 26, was arrested at Wal-Mart on a felony charge of drug abuse and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Criminal damaging: A Boardman-Canfield Road woman discovered someone used a key to damage the finish on her vehicle's trunk lid.
Assault: A resident in the 400 block of Rockdale Avenue reported being assaulted but was not hurt.
Theft: A Struthers girl, 14, was charged after being accused of taking two necklaces valued at a total of $23 from Spencer Gifts in the Southern Park Mall.
Breaking and entering/recovered property: Someone broke a window and entered Thomas Manufacturing, 696 McClurg Road, through a garage before removing five computers and printers as well as various hand tools and a 5-horsepower air compressor. A stolen 2003 Ford F-250 truck was found.
Assault: A Mableton, Ga., man complained of lower back pain after being assaulted at a South Avenue restaurant.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 25-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man at their Hillman Way residence on domestic-violence charges after a situation there. The man had several scratches to his back, neck and shoulder, the report shows.
