60th anniversary to be marked by the Thomases

XYOUNGSTOWN — A celebration is being planned for Mr. and Mrs. Prostell Thomas, 1037 Norwood Ave., who are observing their 60th wedding anniversary today.

The former Josephine Hall and Mr. Thomas were united in marriage Aug. 8, 1947, at the home of her parents in Pelham, Ga.

The couple are members of Antioch Baptist Church, and are the parents of four children, Debra Gavin and Robert C. Thomas, both of Youngstown; Thomas Prostell Jr. of Columbus; and Sophie Thomas-Campfield of Tallahassee, Fla. They have eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Thomas is a nurses aide at Penbrook Place, Carrington South.

Mr. Thomas retired in 1979 from the open hearth at Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. He is a member of Covenant Lodge 59.
