Bond set at $400,000 in missing boy case


YOUNGSTOWN — The woman police said had a role in the death of James P. Higham, who was 16 when reported missing 5 1/2 years ago, was video arraigned today in municipal court. Bond was set at $400,000 for Jennifer L. Snyder, 34, of Pyatt Street. She is charged with gross abuse of a corpse, child endangering, permitting child abuse and tampering with evidence. She will be back in court Aug. 9 for a preliminary hearing. Snyder, related to Higham by marriage, assumed custody of the boy when his parents split. Detectives said the investigation continues for another suspect and believe the boy died in 2001. The body has not been found.
