Boardman father arrested one day after drug charge

BOARDMAN — A day after a Cascade Drive man was charged with a drug offense and his 17-month-old child removed, he was arrested again on a weapons charge. Police were called Tuesday to the Lockwood Boulevard house where Christopher Bosi, 32, and Janeen Bosi, 30, both of Cascade, were housesitting.

Janeen was transported to the hospital for an unknown medical condition, a police report said.

The day before, both of the Bosis were charged with possession of drug abuse instruments after police found two hypodermic needles and syringes in the house. Police had been called on Monday by a friend of the couple who was concerned about their welfare. Custody of the couple’s 17-month-old son was taken by Mahoning County Children’s Services.

A police officer asked Bosi on Tuesday if there were any guns in the house and he said there was a gun upstairs. Bosi also acknowledged being arrested previously including a 1997 drug trafficking conviction from Columbus, the report said. Bosi told the officer the gun’s location. Police also found a shotgun visible from under a mattress in the baby’s crib, a report said.

Bosi was arrested, charged with illegal possession of a firearm. He was lodged in the Mahoning County Jail.
