Beaver Township corn roast is Saturday

NORTH LIMA — No doubt, the center of attention in Beaver Township this weekend will be the huge cast iron skillet used to roast that famous corn on the cob that has become so popular among residents.

Every year township folks gather at Woodworth Park and watch and wait as the corn is cooked. And then it’s served, and the annual party officially begins.

“It’s become an event and tradition now in Beaver Township that our residents anticipate and look forward to,” said Scott Conway, Beaver Township park board administrator. “We love our corn on the cob.”

The free eats await all township residents this Saturday during the Fifth Annual Beaver Township Corn Roast and Reunion at Woodworth Park off East Western Reserve Road. Starting at 4:30 p.m. township folks can help themselves to all the corn on the cob and hot dogs they can eat — while supplies last.
