Two Youngstown men charged with animal cruelty

YOUNGSTOWN — Two South Lakeview Avenue men were charged with animal cruelty after neighbors told police that two pit bull dogs were caged with no food or water and one dog   attacked the other.

Randall Hover, 18, and Ronald Hover, no age given, were arraigned today in municipal court. Their relationship wasn’t immediately known. They will be back in court May 22 for a pretrial.

Police found the dogs covered in mud and dried blood Sunday evening. One of the dogs was sitting on top of a dog house shaking and trembling, police said. The Hovers told police that they were waiting for a check and said the dogs hadn’t been fed in three days. A deputy dog warden took the animals.
