Stabbing leads to felonious assault charge

GIRARD — A city man is due back in court Wednesday to face felonious assault charges after a Sunday altercation at the Tally-Hotel on Belmont Avenue.

Justin Leroy Hawley, 23, of North State Street, was arraigned on the felonious assault charge Monday in Girard Municipal Court. He is in the Trumbull County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.

Police said Hawley stabbed 22-year-old Edward Givens in the abdomen after the two argued over Hawley’s treatment of his girlfriend.
