Man accused of slashing another's throat

YOUNGSTOWN — The man accused of slicing the throat of 21-year-old Ben Chaibi of Campbell was arraigned Monday in municipal court on a charge of felonious assault. Bond was set at $50,000 for Antonio Morales, 18, of Leffingwell Road, Berlin Center.

If he posts bond, he must be placed on electronically monitored house arrest. He will be back in court June 1 for a preliminary hearing. Police said Chaibi was cut during an argument with Morales at a house on Ohio Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Chaibi was in critical condition Monday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
