Children injured in New Castle accident
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Two children were taken by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital after a Monday afternoon traffic accident.
The fire department reported a man was driving his 11-year-old niece and 6-year-old nephew eastbound through the intersection of Highland and Garfield avenues at 4 p.m. Another vehicle failed to stop, causing their vehicle to roll over.
The girl, who was ejected from the car, suffered multiple fractures, and the boy, who was trapped in the car, had a head injury.
The identities of the victims, and what hospital they were taken to, were not released by authorities.
