Golfers are invited to scramble for prizes



A variety of awards will be available for golfers, and a clinic will be offered for nongolfers.
LOWELLVILLE -- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. are co-sponsoring a golf outing that will take place May 19 at Bedford Trails Public Golf Course, 713 Bedford Road.
Proceeds from the event will be used to fund scholarships.
Those participating will register at 7:30 a.m., and play will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30. The cost is 70 for golfers. An instructional clinic will be included in the fee of 30 for nongolfers.
Golfers will be entitled to 18 holes of golf, a cart, breakfast, lunch on the turn, and dinner and beverages upon completion of the event.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the longest drive on the fairway, the longest putt on the green, and for the ball the closest to the pin.
Sponsors welcomed
Tee sponsorships are available to corporations and private donors. Sponsors are offered 100 for par with a tee sign, 200 for a birdie with a tee sign and one registered golfer, 500 for an eagle with a tee sign and two registered golfer, and 1,000 for a hole-in-one with a tee sign and four registered golfers.
