Cornells observe 60th anniversary at Holiday Inn
CANFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. Leslie H. Cornell, 230 Glenview Road, were honored on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary during a dinner party held April 15 at TJ's Restaurant in the Holiday Inn, Boardman.
Hosts for the event were Mrs. Cornell's sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and Brad Ramsbottom of Struthers, Dee and Edward Pfenninger of Macungie, Pa.; Betty and Dan Kresko of Johnstown, Pa.; and Joanne and Edward Houser of Dilltown, Pa.
The former Marian L. Young and Mr. Cornell were united in marriage April 19, 1947, at Fosterville Presbyterian Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Cornell served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He was a machinist at the McKay Machine Co. and retired from Wean United. He is a volunteer for Canfield Operation Blessing.
Mrs. Cornell retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and is a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Old North Church Quilting Group.
The Cornells are members of Old North Golden Heirs Senior Group.
