Anniversary dinner held for the Durkins

BOARDMAN -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Durkin of Boardman was celebrated during a private family dinner party held April 28 at the MVR in Youngstown.
The couple's family includes Jack and Monica Durkin of Boardman, Diane and Michael Petersen of Hilliard, Colleen and Tom Loney of Noblesvlle, Ind., and Brigid and Rob Baker of Germantown, Md. The couple also have eight grandchildren.
The former Anna Mae Franko and Mr. Durkin were united in marriage April 27, 1957, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.
Mrs. Durkin taught second grade at St. Nicholas School and, prior to retiring, she worked for Windsor House Inc.
Mr. Durkin served with the U.S. Air Force. He was an operator for more than 20 years for A.P. O'Horo prior to becoming a safety consultant for the Industrial Commission for the State of Ohio.
