2 brothers sentenced for terroristic threats



The judge also sentenced five others for various crimes.
MERCER, Pa. -- Two brothers will spend time in Mercer County Jail for an August 2006 shooting that slightly injured a man.
Judge Thomas Dobson of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced Isaac Williams, 19, formerly of Farrell and now of the Mercer County Jail, to six to 18 months in the jail followed by five years' probation for terroristic threats and conspiracy-terroristic threats.
Williams' brother, Larry Manning, 26, of East Budd Street, Sharon, was sentenced to one year in the county jail, followed by five years' probation for terroristic threats and conspiracy-terroristic threats. The judge also ordered both men to make restitution.
Court documents state that Michael Campbell was standing with another man on the front steps of a residence on Hamilton Avenue in Farrell about 5 p.m. Aug. 7 when Williams fired a shotgun at them from a car he was riding in with Manning.
Campbell suffered a superficial thigh wound. The bullet also caused 2,727 damage to a picture window and siding of a nearby house.
Other sentences
Also sentenced last week were:
Melissa Anderson, 29, and Donald Sturgin, 29, both of Plant Road, Clarks Mills, both placed on one-year probation for possession of drug paraphernalia. On July 10, 2005, the two were arrested at their residence with eight marijuana plants and other drug paraphernalia, court documents state.
William Crawford, 21, of North Irvine Avenue, Sharon, sentenced to one to 12 months in the Mercer County Jail for disorderly conduct. Court documents state Crawford remained on Mercer County Housing Authority property and pounded on a woman's door at 1:22 a.m. after being told to leave by a Sharon police officer.
Jonie Potts, 34, of Monaca, sentenced to one to two years in the state correctional facility and ordered to make restitution for two consolidated felony counts of forgery. Potts used a computer to generate counterfeit checks under a fictitious name, then passed 1,258 worth of bad checks Feb. 6 and 7 at Wal-Mart stores in Hempfield and Pine Township, court documents state.
Sonya Townsend, 39, of Wallis Avenue, Farrell, sentenced to 11 1/2 to 23 months in prison followed by two years' probation and ordered to make restitution for forgery and criminal conspiracy-retail theft. Court documents state that in April and May, 2006, Townsend forged 12 personal checks belonging to three victims at Hermitage and Sharon banks for a total of 3,640. She also conspired with a man Aug. 18, 2006, to steal a 95 telephone and accessory kit from Rite Aid, 811 E. State St., Sharon.
Kelly Wolf, 28, of East Silver Street, Sharon, one-year probation for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. According to court documents, she took a vehicle offered for sale and failed to return it to the victim Aug. 26, 2006.
