CAMPUS NOTES In the spotlight



PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY, MALIBU, CALIF.
Mary Huebert of North Lima was elected editor in chief of Pepperdine University's Law Review Editorial Board, Volume 35, which will be published in spring 2008. She is responsible for an editorial staff of fourteen students and the entire content of the publication. The editorial board is made up of Pepperdine School of Law students who are elected by the previous year's outgoing editors from a pool of talented students.
Huebert's other accomplishments include finishing as a finalist in two national moot court competitions and serving as a legal research and writing teaching assistant for Dean Kenneth W. Starr. In addition, she served as a judicial extern for Justice Deborah L. Cook of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Huebert graduated magna cum laude from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., with a bachelor's degree in political science and public relations.
ASHLAND UNIVERSITY, ASHLAND, OHIO
Michael Hartz of Youngstown recently returned from Alabama, where he was volunteering for Habitat for Humanity with Ashland's Community Care. The group worked with more than 100 other college and high school students to build eight houses during the week. Hartz got involved with the Habitat team in his first year at Ashland and became a co-leader last year, a position he still holds. Hartz, the son of Gregory and Teresita Hartz, is a senior electronic media production major.
Amber Miller of Youngstown has been inducted into Alpha Gamma Omega Nu sport sciences honorary at Ashland. Membership is open to juniors and seniors active in the Sport Sciences Club and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. She is the daughter of Melvin and Traci Miller and is majoring in exercise science.

Danielle M. DeChant of Girard has been elected vice president of community service for the YSU chapter of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National Leadership and Honors Organization.
BALDWIN WALLACE COLLEGE, BEREA, OHIO
Natalie Hogan, daughter of Mark and Susie Hogan of Boardman, has been awarded the Fred Crossman Leadership Prize and the B-W Women's Club Louise Keifer Scholarship. She is a sophomore neuroscience and biology major and serves as student director of Certified Peer Educators and is president of Inter-Residence Hall Council, secretary of the Neuroscience Society, public relations chair of BioLeague, service coordinator for the Newman Catholic Students Organization and an orientation leader. She is a 2005 graduate of Boardman High School.
ASHLAND COLLEGE, ASHLAND, OHIO
Keona Padgett of Cortland has been inducted into Pi Mu Epsilon, which honors students who have excelled in mathematics. She is the daughter of Anthony and Cherrie Padgett and is majoring in political science.
