ARTS ALIVE III RESERVATION DEADLINE IS APPROACHING



Arts Alive III reservationdeadline is approaching
YOUNGSTOWN -- Reservations are due Monday for the Art's Alive III benefit production that will take place May 5 at the Youngstown Playhouse.
The event will get under way at 6:30 p.m. with a silent and Chinese auction, hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
The program will begin at 8 p.m. on the main stage.
Tickets are by reservation only and are 50 and 30, depending on seating areas.
Checks should be made payable to Playhouse Arts Alive III and mailed to: Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown, OH 44511.

Stuffed cabbage sale
YOUNGSTOWN -- Orders for stuffed cabbage are being accepted until Wednesday at (330) 799-0532 or (330) 219-7809 by Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church Senior UOL. The cost is 11 a dozen. Patrons are asked to provide containers and to pickup orders between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 6 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave. Also available will be haluski at 3 a quart, and baked goods.
Anniversary eventset by ABWA chapter
YOUNGSTOWN -- The 52nd anniversary of Youngstown Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will be held May 15 at Fonderlac Country Club, where the Woman of the Year and Boss of the Year will be honored.
The event will begin with a social at 6 p.m. and program at 6:30 followed by dinner at 7.
Dinners are 24, and the entree choices are chicken marsala, filet of sirloin Hawaiian style or butter crumb baked haddock, all served with salad, twice-baked potato, broccoli and cauliflower, rolls, coffee, tea, ice tea, cake and ice cream. Jubilee Gardens program
YOUNGSTOWN -- An annual kick-off function will be held for the Jubilee Gardens program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10 at the Helen Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave.
The gardening program has been in operation for the past 24 years and is sponsored by Jubilee Gardens Inc., 201 Wick Ave.

Bowl for a cureevent to be May 20
WARREN -- "PanCAN's Bowling for a Cure 2007" is the theme chosen for a fundraiser that will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.
The event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. May 20 at Echo Lanes, 2592 Elm Road N.E., Warren. Featured will be two hours of bowling, shoe rental, a 50-50 raffle, a Chinese auction, door prizes and lunch.

Bear hugs for kids
BOARDMAN -- The Build-A-Bear Workshop in space 715 at Southern Park Mall, 7401 Market St., is conducting a Stuffed With Hugs: Hugs Sweet Hugs workshop to begin at 10 a.m. May 19.
The first 200 guests at the store will have the opportunity to make a bear for free to be donated to a child who needs extra TLC (Teddy Loving Care).
The project is being carried out at Build-A-Bear Workshop stores across the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia in an effort to make more the 50,000 teddy bears for the youngsters.
Reverse raffle setby Rotary Club
AUSTINTOWN -- A reverse raffle and silent auction will be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Youngstown on May 18 at the Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian Road.
Featured will be an open bar and hors d'oeuvres at 6 p.m., dinner at 7, and a chocolate fountain. The raffle, with a grand prize of 3,000, will begin at 8, and afterward there will be music by Bob Hlinka, disc jockey, for dancing from 9 to 11.
Tickets for the reverse raffle and dinner are 100, and only 225 will be sold. Dinner-only tickets are 50. Silent auction items will be available for bidding, and there will be a Chinese auction throughout the evening.
