Adoption event to be discussed on 'Community'



YOUNGSTOWN -- Cynthia Mason and Theresa Pancoe of the Trumbull and Mahoning County Children's Services Boards will discuss the May 5 Tribute to Adoption event on Sunday's "Community Connection" show. The event, to be held at Powers Auditorium, will feature a free concert with Walt Whitman and the Soul Children of Chicago.
Next, Wendy Robinson of Warriors Inc. will discuss the Unity in the Community Parade, scheduled for May 12.
Also on the program will be Stacy Ray, author of the commentary and blog "Diary of a Sad Fat Man." He will reveal his new self, more than 250 pounds lighter and much happier. Stacy will be joined by Beth Tomko, fitness specialist from the Jewish Community Center, and Beth McIntosh, a nurse from Concord Care Center, to share the story of his weight loss.
"Community Connection" airs at 6:30 a.m. Sunday on WFMJ-TV 21, and is rebroadcast at 7 p.m. Wednesday on Time Warner Cable community access channel 15 in Trumbull County.
