Three area men awarded a patent


ALEXANDRIA, Va.,— Terry A. George of Salem, Ohio, Joseph Howard Gladd of Cortland, Ohio, and William C. Ketterer of Girard, Ohio, have been awarded a patent. They   developed a shielded electrical connection system that comprises a male electrical connector and a female electrical connector that mates with the male electrical connector.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The mated electrical connectors have mated terminals that are disposed and sealed in communicating terminal passages of the respective electrical connectors. The electrical connectors also have engaged electromagnetic shields that are disposed and at least partially sealed in communicating shield chambers that are isolated from the mated terminals that are sealed in communicating terminal passages."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,204,716 on April 17.

The patent has been assigned to Delphi Technologies Inc., Troy, Mich.
