Sewage line blocked at supermax camp now cleared

YOUNGSTOWN β€” A blocked sewer line at the Ohio State Penitentiary camp β€” which is separate from the main supermax building β€” shut down showers and toilets from 7 p.m. Tuesday until around 7 a.m. today when the line was cleared, said Keith Fletcher, prison spokesman. He said six portable toilets were brought in for use by about 215 inmates at the camp. He said it’s possible that plastic bags caused the blockage. The prison is on Coitsville-Hubbard Road.
