Rick Alli quits YPD

YOUNGSTOWN — Rick Alli, fired last week as the Ohio Attorney General’s so-called “top cop,” resigned, effective today, as a Youngstown Police Department detective sergeant, according to Jennifer Labatte, civil service commission administrator.

Attorney General Marc Dann fired Alli after learning the former YPD public information officer had been collecting vacation and accumulated time earned at YPD while also being paid by the AG’s office. Dann hired Alli, 52, in early January as chief of law enforcement operations.
