Playhouse will bring art to life



Area personalities will portray figures previously seen only in paintings.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Figures that have been seen in art works at the Butler Institute of American Art or in other famous paintings will be brought to life during an Art's Alive III benefit production that will take place May 5 at the Youngstown Playhouse.
The event will get under way at 6:30 p.m. with a silent and Chinese auction, hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
The program will begin at 8 p.m. on the main stage. Portraying the emerging characters will be area media personalities and favorite playhouse performers. Also among the cast of 40 taking part in the production will be Miss Ohio 2005, Amanda Beagle, and her singing partner, Craig Raymaley; members of the Youngstown State University Football Team; and the Vocal Alliance Barbershop Quartet.
Narration will be provided by Dr. Lou Zona, director of the Butler Institute, and Sis Soller, general chairman. Rennie Griffith is the cocktail party chairman, and Lynn Kirkwood and Darlene DiLullo are in charge of the auctions.
Tickets for the event are by reservation only and are 50 and 30, depending on seating areas.
