BROOKFIELD -- Tickets for the Fabulous Fifties Sock Hop to be held Sunday at Yankee Lake Ballroom to celebrate National Red Hat Day have been sold out.
Breakfast is Saturday
WARREN -- The 17th annual pancake breakfast benefiting the Trumbull Community Action Program will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Warren West Community Center, 1230 Palmyra Road S.W.
The breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, and milk, tea or coffee. Scrambled eggs, pop, juice and hot chocolate are available at an additional cost.

Card and bingo event
McDONALD -- Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Altar and Rosary Society will have their annual card and bingo party at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church hall in McDonald.
There will be door prizes and raffles. Refreshments will be served.
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is 5.
Hibernians conductingmembership drive
NILES -- An annual "Meet and Greet" membership drive is being conducted by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a fraternal organization of Irish Catholic men, and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.
The event will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Outback Steakhouse at the Eastwood Mall Complex.

Center kicks off campaign
YOUNGSTOWN -- Associated Neighborhood Centers will be conducting a membership campaign until July 1.
A kick-off to the campaign will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. April 27 at the McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road.
The honorary chairman is Congressman Tim Ryan, and co-chairman is Mrs. Sonja Williams, first lady of Youngstown. Mayor Jay Williams will be a special guest.
A special event will be a Battle of the Bands, including We Got Your Back with Gene Carper and Blessed from Phillips Memorial Baptist Church.
The evening will also include a tour of the facility, a raffle for an NBA jersey, food and entertainment, and membership registration.

Beatitude Housewine taste, auction
YOUNGSTOWN -- "Continuing the Dream" is the theme for the eighth annual wine taste and auction to be held at 6 p.m. May 4 at the Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian Road, as a benefit for the Beatitude House.

Parents and childreninvited to tea party
BOARDMAN -- An annual semi-formal tea party and fashion show will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. May 20 at the Community Center in Boardman Township Park.
The event is planned especially for children, who must be accompanied by a mother, father or other adult. Those attending are encouraged to wear an Easter outfit or other finery and may participate in the fashion show.
The cost is 12 per resident couple or 16 a nonresident couple, and includes finger foods, crafts for children and a professional photo.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the park office in the Georgeanna Parker Activity Center. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Rotary announcesscholarship program
Rotary District 6650 is accepting applications for participation in the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship Program.
The scholarships are for the 2008-2009 academic year in the amount of 26,000 for a full year of academic study abroad.
Applicants must have completed at least two years of college work and be proficient in the language of the host country. Children or relatives of Rotarians are not eligible.
The application deadline is July 20, and interviews will be in August.
