SRU Earth Festival to feature free activities



SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Slippery Rock University will host Earth Festival, with free activities for children and adults, Saturday.
Beginning at 10 a.m., children will be treated to a petting zoo, an obstacle course and lessons in kite-making. Educational opportunities for adults will include tree-grafting, wool-spinning and weaving. Slippery Rock University Professor Julie Snow will present a regional perspective on climate change.
A sustainable careers expo, live music and a display of eco-friendly cars will continue to 4 p.m. The festival will be held at the Macoskey Center for Sustainable Systems Education and Research. It is free to the public. For more information, call (724) 738-4050.
