UAW-Delphi talksrun into problem
DETROIT -- Negotiations between Delphi Corp. and the United Auto Workers have hit a potential roadblock, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. The UAW is refusing demands by a potential investor for wage and benefit cuts for future hires, the report said. The demand is being made by Cerberus Capital Management, which is part of a group that is proposing to invest up to 3.4 billion in Delphi. The company's workers in the Mahoning Valley are represented by the International Union of Electrical Workers, but that union typically completes negotiations after the UAW.
