Reduced speed limit

SALEM -- The Ohio Department of Transportation it will reduce the speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph on state Route 45 from McCracken Road to the entrance of the Kent State University Salem Campus, where the speed limit is already 45 mph.
The change will begin Thursday when new speed signs are to be installed.
ODOT District 11 Deputy Director Dick Bible said the change is being made after a safety and speed zone study.
