XLOWELLVILLE --Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church was the setting at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 5 for the wedding of Michele Thornton and James Dierkes, both of 1300 Bobby Lane, Westlake.
The Rev. Gerald DeLucia officiated at the ceremony for the daughter of Paulette and David Thornton, 4072 New Castle Road, and the son of Patricia Dierkes, 111 Pricetown Road, Diamond, and Paul Dierkes, 3902 S. Schenley Ave. Youngstown.
After a reception at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman, the couple left for Hawaii. They live in Westlake.
Embroidery and beading enhanced the bride's strapless white satin gown, and a semicathedral train added back interest.
Wearing black gowns were Lori Timko, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Nicole Tucci, Mary LaVenia, Melanie Kincaid, Karissa Hunkus, Rochelle Matulek, Kelly Rudloff and Mindy Kushlak. Junior bridesmaid was Alyssa Greece, and flower girl was Katrina Neff.
Joe Dillon performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Bobby Foerster, Steve Tucci, Brad Timko, Dan Ketterman, Spencer Detter, Keith Simeone and Jeff Simeone. A.J. Neff was ring bearer.
The bride earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training at Baldwin Wallace College and a master's in physical therapy at Ohio State University. She is a physical therapist with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Strongsville.
The groom is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at Lorain County Community College in Elyria.
