League reinstates Little Raiders

WARREN -- The Little Raiders football teams will be back on the field today.
A dispute involving the teams, which play in the Trumbull Youth Athletic Conference, was resolved Friday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court after the teams filed a request for a temporary restraining order against the league.
The league had kicked the teams out of the league earlier this week because of a coach that the under-135-pound team was using the second week of the season who was not supposed to be coaching, said Cliff Diles, treasurer of the league.
In addition to the under-135-pound team, the Little Raiders have teams in the under-95-pound division and under-115-pound division. All were affected by the league's sanctions.
Because of the coach, who had been banned from coaching because of unsportsmanlike conduct, the league had kicked all three teams out of the league, Diles said.
The Little Raiders were represented by Atty. Gil Rucker of Warren, who filed the restraining order Friday afternoon, asking the court to prevent the league from carrying out its actions against the teams.
Judge Peter Kontos discussed the matter with the parties, and the parties reached a resolution on their own, Judge Kontos said.
"We resolved it. They're back in. It should be OK," Diles said outside the courthouse afterward.
