Man arraigned in Wonder Bakery robbery

YOUNGSTOWN -- The man suspected of wearing a woman's wig, lipstick and eye shadow while using a gun to rob a clerk at Wonder Bakery was arraigned Thursday in municipal court.
Bond was set at $500,000 for Terry Hopkins, 43, of West Delason Avenue. He will be back in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
Police said Hopkins ran out of the Mahoning Avenue store to a dark-green Buick with cakes and cash around 6 p.m. Wednesday. Police spotted the car on Hillman Street and followed it to a driveway on West Delason, where it crashed into a wooded area behind the house. Hopkins jumped from the car and over a fence, landing in a vacant field, reports show.
He ran through backyards on Willis Avenue and was caught on West Chalmers Avenue. Witnesses identified him as the robber, police said.
