St. John Greek Orthodox Church, 4955 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown, will have a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Dine-in- or takeout will be available. Funds will be used to restore icons.
FRIDAY
Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will be selling potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide containers.St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.
Potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Cost is $4 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.St. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Tod Avenue United Methodist Church will hold an all-you-can-eat fish dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Meals will include home fries, coleslaw, bread, beverage and homemade dessert. Meatloaf will be available. Carryouts will be available beginning at 3:30. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children 4 to 11. Those under 3 are free. Meals will be delivered to senior citizens at Tod and Buckeye Hi Rise apartments who call the church office at (330) 393-3859 before 3 p.m. Friday.
SATURDAY
First Baptist Church, corner of Eastland Avenue and Surrey Road S.E., Warren, will hold a creamed turkey and biscuit dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children 4 to 10 and free for those 3 and under. Carryout dinners are available by calling the church at (330) 369-5432 or (330) 369-5270.
Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will hold a chicken-pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Meals will include potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 to 12 and free for preschoolers. Takeouts will be available.
SUNDAY
Capt. Charles M. Marino Post 3, Italian-American War Veterans, 113 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 5 p.m. The cost is $5.50 for adults and $3 for children 6 to 10. Those under 6 may eat for free. Carryouts will be available; containers can be purchased or patrons may provide their own.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Cost is $5.50 for adults and $3 for children. Carryouts will be available; containers are $1 or you can provide your own.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles, will sponsor pasta dinners from noon to 5 p.m. at Marian Hall. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Meals will include two meatballs, salad, bread, cake and beverage.
St. James A.M.E. Church will sponsor a soul food dinner from 2 to 4 p.m. at Homestead Park, 823 E. Dewey Ave., Youngstown. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. St. Rocco's Episcopal Church will serve spaghetti or cavatelli dinners from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parish hall, 239 Trumbull Ave., Liberty Township. Adult dinners are $6.50 and children's dinners are $3.50 for those 6 to 12. Meals are free to those 5 and under. Carryouts will be available to patrons providing their own containers, or a container will be provided for 50 cents. A white elephant sale will be featured.
UPCOMING
Boar's Head Ladies of St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at the church. The menu will include salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. Sam Camens Center, 1080 Salt Springs Road, Youngstown, will serve its weekly luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 13. Cost is $3.50 and includes beverage and dessert.
