CINCINNATI -- The exchange of nuptial vows took place during a 5 p.m. ceremony July 29 at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church as Jennifer Potchen, 1521 Creekside Road, Amelia, and Shaun McCloskey, 1577 Muskegon Drive, were united in marriage.
The Rev. Don Dixon officiated at the ceremony for the daughter of Peter and Carolyn Potchen, 565 Oakmont Lane, Aurora, and the son of Jim and Mary Ann McCloskey, 1495 Alissa Place, Boardman.
After a reception at Madison Event Center in Covington, Ky., the couple left on a wedding trip to St. Lucia.
They live at the Creekside Road address.
The bride's strapless white gown was embellished with beading on the pleated bodice and blush ribbon at the waist with a rosette at the back.
Pink gowns were worn by Jennifer Acerra of Chicago, the honor attendant, and bridesmaids, Amy Potchen of Cleveland, the bride's sister; Jennifer McCloskey of Charleston, S.C., sister of the groom; Susan Keltner of Fairfax, Va.; Stacie Memmer of Brecksville; and Heather Bubnick of Cleveland.
Brian Murray and Edmund Ickert, both of Cleveland, were best men, and groomsmen were Jeri Hull of Columbus, Dave Johns of Cincinnati and the groom's cousin, Marty Oravec of Boardman. Ring bearer was the bride's nephew, Sebastian Potchen of Cleveland.
The bride is a computer programmer with A.C. Nelsen Bases in Cincinnati. She graduated from Miami University in Oxford with a bachelor's degree in business.
The groom earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry at the University of Dayton. He is a chemist with Sun Chemical in Cincinnati and is pursuing a master's degree in organic chemistry from the University of Cincinnati.
