Reception honors Milligans on 75th anniversary



XSTRUTHERS -- Mr. and Mrs. Harold Milligan, 17 Wilson St., are being honored today on the occasion of their 75th wedding anniversary.
Family members and friends are attending a reception after the worship service at Struthers Presbyterian Church, where they are members.
Hosts for the event are a son and daughter-in-law, Linda and Harold Milligan Jr. of Struthers.
Other family members are Rebecca Milligan of Columbia, S.C., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Judy Milligan, is deceased.
The former Margaret Kennedy Anderson and Mr. Milligan were married Sept. 4, 1931, in Chester, W.Va.
Mrs. Milligan was a model and also worked in sales for Strouss Hershberg of Youngstown from 1928 to 1932 and was a bookkeeper for Milligan Dairy of Struthers from 1932 to 1938. After that, she was a homemaker. She is a member of the American Field Service, Struthers Presbyterian Women's Association and various card clubs.
Mr. Milligan was the owner-operator of Milligan Dairy from 1928 to 1958. He served as mayor of the city of Struthers from 1952 to 1963 and was a metallurgist with Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co.'s Research Laboratory from 1964 until retiring in 1976. He is a member of Youngstown Garden Club, St. Nicholas Senior Citizens and the Masonic Lodge.
