XGIRARD -- Hawaii was the honeymoon destination of Maxwell James Slanina and his bride, the former Adrienne Nicole Adams, who were married at 2 p.m. July 29 at St. Rose Church and were honored later that day during a reception at Leo's Ristorant & eacute;, Warren.
The bride is a daughter of Christopher and Barbara Adams of Girard, and parents of the groom are Robert and Patricia Slanina of Poland.
The newlyweds live in Canton.
Embellished with embroidery, pearls and rhinestones, the bride's strapless A-line satin gown featured a corset back and a chapel train.
A sea-mist green gown was worn by the honor attendant, Jill Maravola of Warrensville Heights. Similarly attired were the bridesmaids, Lauren Adams of Girard, the bride's sister; Melissa Riley of Pittsburgh; Brittany McLane of Girard; and the groom's cousin, Jennifer Nalley of Virginia Beach, Va.
James Vass of Struthers served as best man, and groomsmen were James Damico of Youngstown; Langdon Riley of Pittsburgh; and the groom's brothers, Gordon Slanina of Poland and Jason Slanina of Reston, Va.
Mrs. Slanina, a transportation engineer with Ohio Department of Transportation in New Philadelphia, graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Mr. Slanina earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at YSU and is a project engineer with Simmers Crane Design and Services in Salem.
