Supreme Council honors area Mason

CHICAGO -- Timothy A. Johnson of Girard was elected to receive the Scottish Rite 33rd degree during an annual session of the Supreme Council of the Masonic Lodge on Aug. 29 in Chicago.
The degree will be conferred next August in Washington. It is awarded for active service in Masonry, especially the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, and to Scottish Rite Masons who have been outstanding leaders in their community and in services to their fellow men.
Johnson, a past master of William Farr Lodge 673, F & amp;AM in Girard, is serving the Grand Lodge of Ohio as district deputy grand master for the 25th Masonic District. He is a member and past presiding officer of York Rite Bodies in Youngstown and has been inducted into Ohio Priory 18, Knights of the York Cross of Honor. He is also a member of Clarence E. O'Neil Council 58, Allied Masonic Degrees.
In the Scottish Rite, Johnson is a past sovereign prince and current senior warden of Youngstown Chapter of Rose Croix.
He attended Bosie State College and Youngstown State University and holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy. He is controller at Water Street Glass and Door and also operates a private tax practice. He attends Christ's Church in Boardman.
Johnson and his wife, Barbara, have two daughters.
